Facilities for hire
At Roseville Presbyterian church we have a number of quality facilities available for renting for weekly activities. Currently our halls are used by groups such as martial arts groups, ballet groups and health and exercise groups.
Further to the many halls available for rent, the church also contains living units for seniors in the beautiful Roseville setting.
Heather Brae Retirement Units
Heather Brae was originally built in 1983, as an initiative of St Luke’s to provide for church members who paid an Accommodation Bond to move into a ‘retirement unit.’ The gracious provision of Miss Heather Drummond of the sale proceeds of her house in Roseville, together with the donations and loans of members enabled the congregation to purchase the home behind the church in Roseville Avenue in which Theological Professor Rev Crawford Miller had lived. Heather Drummond was given a Unit for the term of her natural life. The complex of seven units was completed and opened in 1983 by the State Moderator and the Minister Rev Douglas Murray.
Over time the general requirements of people have changed and residency is open to members of the public who may or may not wish to attend the Church. We now are more flexible to meet the needs of those who are over 55 years of age [and the legal requirements of the Council and State Government]. In the past residents entered by way of an Accommodation Bond and a small weekly maintenance fee, however it is now possible to rent a Unit if other conditions are met. The Units (with one exception) are single bedroom. There is undercover parking for those who drive and a level entry to the units through the tendered shrubs and garden, which are well lit at night. All have a lounge/dining room, kitchen, en-suite, and most use a shared laundry. The units have lovely sunny back verandas.
By 2000 the Units were commencing to age and so over the past few years a lot has been spent on refitting, refurbishment, repainting, and upgrading most of the units to extend their life and provide a comfortable practical home for residents. Members of the church have always taken an great interest in developing a caring relationship with the residents who may participate in all church activities.
In lovely leafy Roseville and less than 500 meters from station & shops, with the bus stop just 100 meters away and just one stop to Chatswood and Lindfield shopping centers Heather Brae is ideally placed as over 55 Independent Living Units.
Inquiries can be made through the Minister who keeps a current ‘waiting list.’
